7 Days Cape Town & Kruger Family Safari

A combination of Cape Town and a safari in the Greater Kruger area is ideal for a family holiday. Your stay in the Mother City includes two private day excursions to visit the Cape Peninsula and the Winelands to complement this wonderful package. The location of the hotel on the Atlantic Seaboard is very practical for children big and small, while the game lodge offers game drives from 6 years of age. You will have a good chance to view the Big Five and the Small Five (the antlion, red-billed buffalo weaver, rhino beetle, leopard tortoise and the elephant shrew).

Day 1: Cape Town

Staying at Winchester Hotel

On arrival in Cape Town, private road transfer to the hotel on the Atlantic Seaboard, not too far from the city center, the V&A Waterfront, and the beaches. You are booked for four nights at the Winchester Mansions, including breakfast. Welcome to the Mother City, your home away from home.  Depending on the season and your children’s age, we can recommend things to do as per your preferences. On your first day, we suggest you check in and get oriented with a stroll on Sea Point Promenade or hop on the Red Bus if time allows.

Day 2-4: Cape Town

Staying at Winchester Hotel

Included during your stay are 2 private day trips, one to visit the Cape Peninsula which follow the scenic route with stops at quaint areas, as well as a day in the Winelands where you will have the opportunity to taste some of South Africa’s world- renowned wines and walk through the vineyards. The last day is at leisure and you can decide to relax, discover the town on your own, or we can book an additional tour for your family: from kayaking in the ocean, hiking Table Mountain, taking a shopping tour or a cultural sightseeing experience.

Day 5: Kapama Private Game Reserve

Staying at Kapama Southern Camp

After breakfast, transfer to the airport on time for your flight to Hoedspruit. On arrival, you are met by the lodge and transferred to Kapama Southern Camp. You can now relax completely, while you are guided by the excellent staff at the camp. Your guide will confirm the times for the game drives, food is served at plenty for breakfast, lunch and dinner and you have some time to relax between the activities to enjoy the pool, or book a spa treatment (additional cost).

Day 6: Kapama Private Game Reserve

Staying at Kapama Southern Camp

Spanning 15 000 hectares of the pristine African bush, Kapama offers the perfect sanctuary for a wide variety of wildlife. Over 40 different species of mammals including the Big 5 – elephant, lion, leopard, African buffalo and rhinoceros – as well as 350 bird species, thrive in their natural habitat. Your stay includes your meals, selected beverages and two game drives per day. The drives are led by a skilled guide and assistant guide on the same vehicle, and encountering (any or all!) of the Big Five is highly probable during your Kapama stay.

Day 7: End Of Tour

It is the last day in the bush, after breakfast you will be transferred to Hoedspruit airport on time for the flight to Johannesburg. From there, connect with your onward flight, or contact us to extend your trip.
